Zeelie Builders is a 2nd generation family-owned business — owned and run by Gavin  Zeelie, who grew up watching his mother and father work in the home building industry.

The values he grew up with – honesty, integrity, and a drive to succeed are evident in all aspects of his construction company. With 30 years of experience, Gavin remains heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the business and offers his customers a personalized and unique experience.

The Early Years

In 1982, husband and wife team, Brian and Marlene Zeelie set out with loads of determination to make up for lack of experience.

They were to build a house for their daughter. However, Karen never got the chance to move in. Once it was completed a house-hunter fell in love with it and made the Zeelies an offer they were unable to refuse.

Marlene said that after the success of the first house they had been bitten by the building bug and decided to try again. Little did they know they had laid the foundations for what is today a most successful building concern.

Zeelie Builders has since become a name synonymous with quality. From the outset, the company built houses stringently to the highest quality standards with every aspect of building properly and thoroughly checked. Personal supervision is a trait seldom offered today.

In 1986 Zeelie Builders was invited to build a show house for the 1986 Habitat exhibition in a new extension of Sherwood. This was a great success. In the following years, Zeelie Builders partook in Habitat exhibitions in the newly created suburb of Framesby Gardens and Bluewater Bay amongst others. These Habitat houses went a long way in showcasing our quality and attention to detail.
